Description :

The GUI always gives me garbage ("boxes") instead of characters on some components on Windows. A screenshot is included.

Environment: Windows Vista (Japanese version)

This bug unfortunately makes the software very hard to use since it affects the file selection dialog (and all dialogs in general).

Additional Information :

I suspect this bug may be limited to non-English locales. I noticed that the "about" dialog has a localized title (it's literally saying "about", in Japanese, in the included screenshot). Probably, the "OK", "Cancel", etc. buttons as well as some folder names such as "My Documents" are also localized into Japanese, but the font used for the GUI does not support Japanese characters, thus turning the text into garbage.

Perhaps there is a way to disable this internationalization (in GTK, I assume) or use a unicode font?
